Napier

Yesterday, we toured the unique city centre of Napier and ventured into the countryside for some amazing scenery. Napier was nearly destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1931. When it was rebuilt, they used the contemporary architecture of the time; consequently, the city boasts the largest collection of art deco buildings in the world. We viewed the surrounding scenery from the top of Te Mata then ventured out to the stunning seaside. A lovely day!
